The hugely popular video game franchises 'Guitar Hero' and 'Rock Band'—which combined raked in $935 million last year—continue to introduce aging rockers to new fans. Sales figures show that kids are not just playing the games, they're downloading the featured artists. The popularity of the games is also translating to more interest in playing real guitars, according to Guitar Center. And the games' influence has increased business at some bars featuring 'Guitar Hero' nights by 25% to 35%.
